The evergreen Jamie Vardy made a triumphant return to the Premier League by scoring a goal, helping promoted Leicester secure a draw against Tottenham at the King Power Stadium.

At 37, Vardy scored with Leicester's first shot on target, heading in Abdul Fatawu's cross from close range just before the hour mark.

Vardy’s goal equalized Pedro Porro’s first-half opener for Spurs, who had dominated the opening 45 minutes and should have been comfortably ahead before Vardy’s strike.

Summer signing Dominic Solanke, who joined Tottenham for a fee potentially rising to £65m, squandered several early chances on his debut, twice sending weak headers straight at Foxes goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.

Instead, Vardy's equalizer sparked Leicester into action, and they nearly seized all three points as Tottenham struggled to cope with their newfound energy and enthusiasm.

The former England striker had a chance to secure the win himself when he was sent through on goal, but his low shot was saved by Guglielmo Vicario.

Neither side could find a winner. Leicester earned a crucial point in their bid to silence relegation predictions, while Spurs were left frustrated after failing to capitalize on their first-half dominance.

Meanwhile, Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur was substituted in the second half due to an injury sustained in a harsh collision.

The 27-year-old was given oxygen and carried off on a stretcher after a five-minute delay for treatment. However, boss Ange Postecoglou reassured after the game that he was "conscious and communicating."
